The Sweater-Over-Dress Technique

Outfit worn on Wednesday 28th November 2012,

I'm wearing:

French Connection blue/purple/pink/beige/black butterfly patterned skater dress,

Next purple sweater,

Marks and Spencer black tights,

socks (unseen),

Oasis black leather slouchy heeled boots.

In case you didn't know, jumper is the common British word for sweater. However I've never understood why we say jumper... Perhaps because you kind of look like you're jumping (with your arms up) when you're pulling it on? Hmm...

This sweater hadn't been worn in years before I wore it on Wednesday, and I cut it up before I went out with it!  It was actually one those jumpers with an attached shirt top. I got it way back in 2006, when emaciated me would buy much bigger jumpers to layer with. I found it in my closet a few weeks ago and found it was my size now! But the white shirt bit was annoying on my bigger self so I cut it off.

As a curvy girl, it took me a while to find the right sweater and dress combination. Other sweaters I tried just didn't seem to be the right shape or length, therefore making me look frumpy. I think this jumper could have done with being a bit longer but I liked the outcome.

This used to be one of my favourite dresses but it's just a tad too revealing... The print is beautiful - I love butterfly prints as you can tell by my blog - however underneath the sweater, my cleavage is seriously out there! And while I'm a big believer in flaunting your assets ;) the wear of this dress is very TPO (Time-Place-Occasion) dependent.

I know the lighting isn't that great in these photos but when I tried to edit them, the colour would go way off so I've settled for these. I have tried to take photos outside (you'll see them in my next outfit post) but because my Mum is only available in the evenings, the dark Autumn/Winter nights are so hard to take photos in! I'll aim for regular outdoor photo shoots come Springtime.

Yesterday I collected very special somethings from the post office! New black ankle boots from New Look! They didn't have my size in store so New Look arranged to have my size delivered! Here are my new babies:

It's ironic how I said outfit posts from me will be scarce and yet, I already have another outfit to post after this one!
